The AACD accreditation process greater meaning is to create a set of standards by which we can judge excellence in cosmetic dentistry. Without any criteria to objectively judge the beauty of a smile, there would be no regulation of a standard of care in cosmetic dentistry.
In order to become an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) a dentist must pass a written exam. Once the written exam is successfully completed, the dentist turns in cases that are judged by a board of examiners. The cases include most common cosmetic treatments that we provide in the office. Once the all the cases are passed, the dentist must complete an oral examination. The accreditation process with the AACD is the only valid credentialing award in cosmetic dentistry. If a dentist is serious about cosmetic dentistry and being a cosmetic dentist, then they are likely accredited or in the credentialing process with the AACD.
Becoming an accredited cosmetic dentist in jacksonville is something that I never feel like I needed to be a good cosmetic dentist, but the overwhelming majority of the best cosmetic dentists in the world are accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In order for me to be taken seriously as a cosmetic dentist, becoming an AACD accredited cosmetic dentist was always a primary career objective. It took 5 years to complete accreditation, and in that time I can honestly say that I have become a much better cosmetic dentist, and it is directly related to the high standards in judging criteria. Looking back on the process becoming accredited ended up being a milestone that taught me, what it means to be a good cosmetic dentist, and that being a good cosmetic dentist will always be a journey of passion and education. I would start my research with any accredited cosmetic dentist in jacksonville or any other part of the country.
